It was indeed a proud moment for all Amdavadis to celebrate a sensational 600 years of the city. People in and around Ahmedabad were so excited that everyone had come up with different and more so, unique ways to celebrate the existence of this amazing city.

The Institute itself, was involved in the celebration on a whole different level. The Ahmedabad Mirror Art Show exhibited work done by several emminent artists and design institutes of the city, like NID, NIFT and IDEAL. The design concepts depicted what six hundred years of the city of Ahmedabad meant to artists.

The sculpture symbolises a book of prayer, pages pulled out of many different religious books.
The Zorastrian & Christian, the Koran and the Gita, expressing one voice, one thought. The common thread running through the seemingly different faiths coming to us over six hundred years since Ahmed Shah, that of one God.
It stands as a symbol of hope and unity.

A panel in wood and fused glass, depicting the passage of time represented by the sweeping swirls in the sky. You have in the shadows, some of the wonderful old buildings of Ahmedabad, giving way to the modern gleaming waterfront of the new City. A promised land, so to speak!
